Everyone loves a Snow Day

By Julie Weeks jweeks@elberton.com   Friday, Jan. 10 brought a wintry mix to a large part of the state which began with as much as two inches of snow in some areas followed by freezing rain. Elbert County Schools had called off classes for the day, and city and county offices were also closed.

SNOW MUCH FUN

Thanks to readers of The Elberton Star for showing up in full force when asked to submit photos of your fun in the snow. The Star received over 500 photos via our digital media sites, which is a record  number to date.  Space limitations prevented us from printing all of them.

Splash pad bids expected in coming weeks

Elberton City Manager Kevin Eavenson said he expects to have a pair of bids for the support building accompanying the Beaverdam Falls Splash Park before the bidding window closes, resolving a months-long saga and getting the project moving forward again.
