Windborne named new principal for ECCHS

By Julie Weeks jweeks@elberton.com   On Monday the Elbert County Board of Education unanimously approved Robert “Buddy’ Winborne to be the next principal of Elbert County Comprehensive High School. Windborne will fill the vacancy left by the departing Josh Rider.

ECCHS Softball Retires #20

The Elbert County Lady Devils softball team recently honored Kim Harper Bray by retiring her No. 20 jersey in a ceremony that took place in the middle of the Lady Devils’ doubleheader sweep of Johnson High School at Wesley King Field March 12.

BOE to hold meeting Thursday to discuss future of high school facility

Approximately 450 local kids and their families turned out for Elbert County Parks and Recreation's Opening Day Ceremony Saturday, March 8 at McWilliams Park. The parade of teams is an annual event signaling the beginning of youth baseball and softball season.

Bowman to hold April recall election for two council seats
