Game preview: Commerce at Elbert County

After two straight years of the teams playing at Commerce, the Tigers are set to come to the Granite Bowl Friday and take on the Elbert County Blue Devils.Elbert County won last year’s matchup 16-6 for their first road win of the year.

Elbert County volleyball gets big win over ACAD

The Elbert County volleyball program continues to prove it has turned a corner.The Lady Devils bounced back from a three-match skid to beat perennial power Athens Academy (ACAD) for the first time in program history. Elbert County won 2-1 (26-24, 25-17, 15-13).

Lady Devils’ bats heating up

The offense is starting to come around for the Elbert County softball team.The Lady Devils recorded back-to-back double digit run performances last week in wins over Washington-Wilkes and Stephens County. It was their first time stacking two such games all season.

Elbert boys cross country wins Banks meet

The Elbert County boys’ cross country team has its first win of the season, in a meet the team had its eye on.The Blue Devil boys finished first at the Banks County home meet on Saturday. Three runners finished with sub-20 minute times in the 5K: Junior Eli Alexander (19 minutes, 52.

Blue Devils fall to Wesleyan in home opener

Elbert County played the hand it was dealt, but a few setbacks in the second half ultimately doomed the Blue Devils in a 31-17 loss to Wesleyan.The teams were deadlocked at 17 at halftime before injuries and a difficult time running the ball beset Elbert County.

Game preview: Wesleyan vs. Elbert County

Football is back in the Granite Bowl. Elbert County will host Wesleyan in its home opener Friday night at 7:30 p.m. The Blue Devils are aiming to avenge last season’s 14-7 road loss to the Wolves and get to 2-0 on the season.

Elbert County volleyball off to strong start

So far, so good for the Elbert County volleyball team.The Lady Devils have started the 2026 season 10-4, and are winners of their last five matches.After a few years of getting the young program off the ground, it looks like things are starting to come together for the Lady Devils.

Lady Devils beat Hart County in exciting finish, win three straight

Elbert County softball is heating up.The Lady Devils picked up a dramatic win over Hart County Thursday night, before racing past Washington-Wilkes and Stephens County. The three-game winning streak has Elbert at 4-3 on the season.

Blue Devils storm back to overwhelm East Jackson for season-opening win

The first three quarters of Friday’s game at East Jackson were full of frustration for Elbert County.The fourth was a different story.After trailing 7-0 for most of the game the Blue Devils erupted late, scoring three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to earn a decisive 21-7 victory over the Eagles.
