Elbert County volleyball achieved new milestones Saturday afternoon. The Lady Devils hosted their first ever state series and, for the first time ever, ECCHS is headed for the Class 3A second round.The Lady Devils made quick work of the invading Therrell Lady Panthers at the middle school.

Elbert County gave Hart County's Bulldogs a dogfight Friday night at the Granite Bowl, but the Blue Devils' rival edged ECCHS 36-30.Hart also took over first place in the Region 8-3A standings with a 3-1 record. The Bulldogs now carry a 7-1 overall mark while Elbert fell to 4-3.

ELBERTON - The Elbert County Lady Devils are all set to host the first round of the GHSA Class 3A state softball tournament Monday, welcoming Callaway in for the best-of-three-game series. The doubleheader is set to begin at 5 p.m.ECCHS finished 14-12 in the regular season and third in Region 8.
