Diamond Devils well-represented on all-state teams

Five Elbert County Diamond Devils made the GHSA Georgia Dugout Club All-State teams for Class A Division I. Elbert County went 28-8 in the 2026 season, winning a region title and advancing to the Elite 8 of the state playoffs.Senior outfielder Jose Rodriguez was a first-team selection.

Bobby Brown Park hosting July 4 'Summer of Scrappy' bash

Professional wrestling is coming to Bobby Brown Park July 4. Independent Georgia promotion Scrappy Championship Wrestling is hosting the “Summer of Scrappy: The Bash of Bobby Brown” at the park on Independence Day.There is a $5 fee for admission and a $5 parking pass fee.Doors will open at 5 p.m.

Learning how to fly: Elbert County cheer squad hosts youth camp

The next generation of Elbert County cheerleaders got their chance to work with members of the Elbert County Comprehensive High School cheerleaders last week. The ECCHS cheer squad hosted its annual youth cheer camp last week from June 22 to 24 at the high school gym.The camp was held from 2 p.m.
The Larry Owens Kids Basketball Camp is set to be held from June 22 to 25 in The Inferno.
