Splash pad bid finally approved

The City of Elberton voted 3-2, with Council Members Troy Colquitt and Carey Butler voting in opposition, to approve a bid from Cirrus Construction Inc. in the amount of $2,033,339 to complete the splash pad being constructed off of North McIntosh Street on the site of the old senior league field.

By Julie Weeks jweeks@elberton.com   Marti Love Terrell was a normal preschooler who did normal things. She rode horses, spent the night away  and played with friends. “Normal” stopped when she was in kindergarten. She began waking up early and vomiting for no apparent reason.

Jim-Ree Celebrates ‘Twenty & Ten’

By Julie Weeks jweeks@elberton.com   The idea for the Jim-Ree African American Museum in Elberton began in 1995 when Elberton native Jimmy White organized a committee for Black History Month to help preserve, share and teach about African American heritage and culture.
The JROTC Drill team that competed in the Grovetown meet includes Alyssa Childers, Ariel Moncallo, Atorrian Small, Colton Mabry, Daniel Nguyen, Daniella Govea-Alcalde, Isabel Cruz, Jacob Brown, Jocelyn Castillo, Juana Olivera, Kaili Papios, Kaylee Harvey, Marley Geyer, Michael Bowman, Nallei Rodriguez-Clemente, Naomi Bernal, Nyasia Teasley, Quintedria Grooms, Reina Maxwell, Samuel Gohn, Tommy Moon, Tunisia Sadler, Ty’Quavious McLendon and Yamileth Carreon.
