Elbert County first-year Lady Devils Softball Coach Drew Greer said last week that four members of this year’s team were named All-Region in 8AA and four more players were designated All-Region Second Team. The Lady Devils advanced to the playoffs where they hosted a series against Haralson County.

Blue Devils fall to 1-1 in region play

It was extremely difficult to find anything nice to say about Friday night’s decisive loss to region-leading Rabun County, so, Elbert County Blue Devil Coach Shannon Jarvis didn’t.

Region-leading Devils host Rabun Friday

Like all wins, Friday’s demolition of Union County in Blairsville was a team win, but the Blue Devil defense made like bandits before returning to Elbert County in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Junior linebacker Bryshun Roebuck and junior defensive back A.J.

Elbert County hosts, finishes 1st to clinch Area 8 championships

Elbert County’s Male and Mixed Team Raiders hosted 12 high schools at Elbert County Comprehensive High School in the final meet of the Area 8 season and won both the male and mixed team titles. The Elbert male team won first in Team Run, PTT, CCR, Tire Flip and overall.

Devils traveling to Blairsville Friday night

As Elbert County heads to Blairsville to take on Union County High School Friday in a key region game, Blue Devil Head Coach Shannon Jarvis said the biggest challenge facing his team this week is coming off two weeks without a substantial portion of his football team practicing.

Lady Devils second seed as playoffs begin

Elbert County’s Lady Devils will be the host in the first round of the Class AA playoffs Monday, but prior to that Coach Drew Greer has scheduled a game Thursday against Social Circle so his team won’t get rusty.

Blue Devils fall to Red Devils, 27-20

 Elbert County mounted three rallies in the second half of Friday night’s homecoming game against Lincoln County, but the third fell nine yards short in a 27-20 loss to the Red Devils. “There were a lot of positives to work off of tonight,” said Blue Devil Head Coach Shannon Jarvis.

Male Raiders and Mix Raiders second in a meet at Hart County High School

The Elbert County Raiders traveled to Hart County High School Saturday and finished in second place out of 15 high schools participating. The Elbert County Male Team finished second as did the Mix Team.
