Region Champions - Devils

Elbert County Blue Devils Head Coach Don Hurlburt knew in August, before the season even started, that his Blue Devils were good enough to be region champions.  Thursday night, his team proved it.

Region Champions - Lady Devils

Before the Lady Devils took the court against the Rabun County Lady Wildcats at Banks County High School Feb. 18, Head Coach Josh Jones told them he loved them and he was proud of them.

State Champion

Elbert County Mat Devil senior Jamal Rucker is the newest state champion in the 126-pound division after winning by decision 8-3 during the finals of the GHSA State Tournament in Macon Feb. 10.

Mat Devils place fourth in state tournament

The Elbert County Mat Devils finished in fourth place at the GHSA State Tournament in Macon Feb. 10, bringing home a state championship, a state runner-up and seven total placers.  Freshman Carter Fleming placed fifth in the 113-pound division after losing during his first match.

Championship Bound

Head Coach Josh Jones and the Elbert County Lady Devils are one step away from obtaining Jones’ goal for the season - winning the region championship.  After defeating Union County 74-39 in the first round of the Region 8-AA Tournament at Banks County Feb.

Devils to play Banks for region title

Head Coach Don Hurlburt and the Elbert County Blue Devils will face off against the Banks County Leopards Thursday, Feb. 18 for the third time this season, this time  for the Region 8-AA Championship.

Undefeated Lady Devils lead Region 8-AA

The Elbert County Lady Devils have paved their way to head into the Region 8-AA Tournament as the No. 1 seed after an undefeated season in region play. The tournament will be hosted by Banks County as this year’s tournament rotation allows for the No. 1 boys to host.

Williams sole senior for Lady Devils

Elbert County Comprehensive High School student. Soccer player. Track athlete. Volleyball starter. Homecoming Queen. Sole Lady Devil basketball senior. Jedihah Williams has spent her senior year trying new things, including two new sports.

Devils second heading into region tournament

The Elbert County Blue Devils are set as the second seed heading into the Region 8-AA Tournament next week. Hosted by No. 1 Banks County, the first round of the tournament will feature No. 2 Elbert vs No. 3 Rabun and No. 1 Banks vs No. 4. Union.
