Diamond Devils to host Banks in region showdown

The Elbert County Diamond Devils are scheduled to host the Banks County Leopards for a region showdown doubleheader Friday, April 16. The Diamond Devils were set to travel to Banks for the first of a three game series Tuesday, April 13 and results were unavailable before press time.

Diamond Devils top 10 in state AA

The Elbert County Diamond Devils, who added two wins last week to put them at 15-4 on the season, are tied with Banks as the No. 1 team in Region 8AA and are ranked in the top 10 in the state in AA rankings as of Tuesday morning.

Diamond Devils move to 9-4

The Elbert County Diamond Devils are riding a six-game winning streak after two shutout games against Riverside Military Academy last week.  The Diamond Devils traveled to Riverside Military Academy March 9 for the first shutout game, ending 15-0.

Lady Devils finish first, third in invitational

The Elbert County Lady Devils golf team defeated Franklin, Oglethorpe and Putnam counties last week and finished third in an invitational held Monday.
The Elbert County Blue Devil golf team consists of (L-R) Coach Larry Kesler, Slate Crook, Alex Dunbrack, Jake Harper, Thomas Brady, Levi Johnson, Brady Starrett, Ethan Cone, Braydon Scarborough, Kamuri Willis, Landon Cagle and Hayden Marunich.

Blue Devil golfers beat Franklin, Oglethorpe/Putnam

The Elbert County boys golf team went on a winning streak last week, defeating Oglethorpe and Putnam counties at home at Arrowhead Pointe Tuesday, March 9 and Franklin County Thursday, March 11 at Highland Walk Golf Course in Franklin Springs.

Lady Devils end season one short

Josey High School’s Lady Eagles, who will be playing for a state title at noon on Thursday, got to the state finals because they caught Elbert County’s Lady Devils on a cold shooting night March 2.

Lovett too tall a task for Blue Devils

On a region championship high, the Elbert County Blue Devils breezed past the Bremen Blue Devils in the Inferno Wednesday, Feb. 24 (64-37) to host another round of the playoffs Saturday, Feb. 27 against the Lovett Lions.

Lady Devils breeze into Elite Eight

It wasn’t the blistering barrage of threes that gave the Lady Devils a 25-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, nor was it the smothering defense that allowed the Hornets of South Atlanta a measly four points in the second quarter.

Lady Devils, Devils named first team all-region

Lady Devil sophomore Aaniyah Allen was named Region 8AA’s co-player of the year along with Union County’s Ava Hunter.  Fellow Lady Devils Niya Moon and Terrace Hester were selected to the Region 8AA first team all-region.
