Property values up as much as 40 percent

Property revaluation notices, with property values upwards of a 40 percent increase over Jan. 1, 2021 values, are expected to be in the mailboxes of Elbert County residents in the coming weeks, according to Elbert County Chief Appraiser Doug Kirkpatrick.

American Legion Post 14 held their annual Memorial Day program Monday, May 29 outside the Blackwell Memorial Cultural Center. The group heard from Sgt.
Elbert County native and Tena's employee Sydney Baston is the featured model on VAHAN Jewelry's new "Jewelry for Every Lifestyle" campaign. Baston, along with horse "Uno" had a photoshoot in Elbert County for the campaign, which is now featured in magazines, and is set to be on billboards and other advertisements, across the country.

Bowman approves gas rate increase

Natural gas customers of the City of Bowman will see an increase in their gas bills in the coming months as the Bowman City Council approved a rate increase during Monday night’s meeting.  The new rate increases the base rate from $9 to $9.50 and the usage rate from $0.
