A brightly colored celebration for the 4th of July holiday was attended by Elbert County residents Saturday, July 1 at Newford Creek in Lincoln County on Thurmond Lake. The event included a golf cart parade of around 35 carts and was organized by Kyle and Sandra Brown. The golf carts were decorated to the nines with all things red, white and blue and even featured Elbert County native Liza Pitts Miller as Lady Liberty. The parade was attended by those of all ages with Ted Ethridge being the oldest attendee at 95 years old.
