A motion made by Bowman City Council members Betty Jo Maxwell and Leah Carey to remove an injunction filed by the city against poultry house developer Aubery Lunsford failed by a 3-2 vote during a called meeting Feb. 9. Carey alerted The Elberton Star and 105.3 WSGC Radio of the called meeting Feb.

Celebrating Black History Month with proclamation, live production

The “Black History Hall of Fame” live stage production will premiere on The Elbert Theatre stage Saturday, Feb. 17 at 10:30 a.m. Performed by the Bright Star Touring Theatre performers, the event will take place in honor of Black History Month in February.

Developers request solar decision delay

Developers from Hester Hill Solar LLC, "a wholly-owned subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources," have requested the Elbert County Board of Commissioners delay their conditional use permit request to allow a 900 acre solar facility off of Lincolnton Highway.
