Early voting in the Presidential Preference Primary began Monday in the Historic Rock Gym. Voting will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day through Friday, March 8. A pair of Saturday votes will be held Saturday, Feb. 24 and Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A new 4-H building for the Elbert County 4-H/Extension Office is finally set to be built after the Elbert County Board of Commissioners voted 4-1 to build the new building Feb. 12. While plans to build a new building were previously discussed and $2.

A motion made by Bowman City Council members Betty Jo Maxwell and Leah Carey to remove an injunction filed by the city against poultry house developer Aubery Lunsford failed by a 3-2 vote during a called meeting Feb. 9. Carey alerted The Elberton Star and 105.3 WSGC Radio of the called meeting Feb.
