Road paving from TSPLOST funds set to bid out for 2024 projects

Nearly 6.5 miles of county roads are set to be paved in 2024 after the Elbert County Board of Commissioners (BOC) voted 4-1 to approve a list of roads to bid out for paving from the 2024 transportation special purpose local option sales tax (TSPLOST) funds during Monday night's meeting.

Local qualifying draws mixed bag

The first day of qualifying for the May 21 General Primary drew a mixed bag of incumbents and newcomers for local offices Monday. Of the 11 open races, all but two incumbents qualified as of Tuesday at press time.
