Diamond Devils tied for top spot

In a region matchup between two Top 10 teams in Class A Division 1, the No. 5 Elbert County Diamond Devils took a three-game series over No. 7 Athens Christian’s Eagles to create a three-way tie for the region’s top spot.

Devils, Lady Devils finish second at Franklin track meet

Elbert County’s Blue Devils and Lady Devils Track teams both brought home second place finishes thanks to a total of 10 first-place finishes at Franklin County’s senior-night home meet March 30. “We have improved a lot and we’re going to continue to grow,” Head Coach Sid Smith said.

Golfers defeat Banks on senior night

The Elbert County golf teams swept Banks County on senior night in their final home regular season weekday match at Arrowhead Pointe March 30. Scoring for the Devils was Hayden Marunich, Thomas Brady, Brady Starrett and Madden Drake while scoring for the Lady Devils was Abby Bryant and Ava Dye.

Lady Devils tennis secures No. 3 seed

The Elbert County Lady Devils tennis team secured the No. 3 seed in the upcoming region tournament after defeating Commerce in a close 3-2 match on senior night March 28. The Lady Devils saw wins from Emily Poon in No. 1 singles, Jude Sanders in No.

Diamond Rams to play for region championship

The Elbert County Middle School Rams baseball team, coached by Craig Fleming and Landon Heaton, finished the regular season with a record of 14 wins and two losses. In the first series for the Region Championship, the Rams defeated Franklin County March 22.

Slow pitch sweeps doubleheader at home against Gainesville

Fielding an inagural slow pitch softball team

Elbert County’s Lady Devils slow pitch softball team kicked off their inaugural season as they split a doubleheader against Hart County on the road March 15.

Lady Devils tee off with Top teams in nation

After a busy couple of weeks, the Blue Devils and Lady Devils golf teams continue to put in strong performances against some of the top teams in the state. The Lady Devils participated in the Gwinnett Open at Chateau Elan March 25 against some of the top-ranked teams in the nation.

Ingram picks up 200th win

Elbert County Diamond Devils’ Head Coach Lance Ingram recorded his 200th win as a head coach after defeating Tallulah Falls 9-1 on the road March 10. “It’s always an honor to get that number, but still I have to credit everything to the players I’ve had in the past and the coaches as well.
