Devils start strong with pre-season win over Stephens

The Elbert County Blue Devils kicked off the 2023 season with a 22-10 victory over Stephens County in the Granite Bowl Aug. 4 thanks to a pair of late touchdowns by freshman Exavier Jones.

Softball season kicks off Friday

Fall Sports are set to officially kick off this week as the Elbert County Lady Devils softball team is scheduled to start their 2023 season with a game on the road against Stephens County August 4.
The Elbert County Mat Devils hosted their annual youth wrestling camp in the gym at the former Falling Creek Elementary School July 24 to July 26. The camp was taught by the Elbert County wrestling staff and helped teach wrestlers of varying experience levels the fundamentals of wrestling.

The Elbert County Lady Devils softball team is set for a rematch with the Lady Bulldogs on the road as they’re scheduled to travel to Hartwell July 20 for a game against Hart at 6:30 p.m. followed by a game against Commerce at 8 p.m.

Little League All-Star teams fall in state, district tournaments

The Elbert County Little League (ECLL) 10 to 12-year-old Softball All-Star team finished off their season July 10 in the state tournament held in Rabun County after falling in games to Oconee County and Bartow County Elbert’s tournament run started with an 11-0 loss to Oconee in their first game.
The Elbert County Little League 10-12 Softball All-Star team includes Willow Baston, Sophie Black, Sterling Blanford, Lily Bobo, Evie Page Bradford, Ayden Evans, Arabella Garcia, Cassidy James, Jailee Jones, Makayla McKnight, Olivia Paramore, Ashley Sanders and Head Coach Heather Chapman.
