Lady Devils named to All-Region teams

The Elbert County Lady Devils tennis team had four athletes who were named to the Region 8A Division 1 All-Region team. Junior Jude Sanders was named first-team singles while freshman Emily Poon was named second-team singles.

Track teams qualify for state meet

The Elbert County Blue Devils and Lady Devils are headed to the state championship meet after qualifying athletes in five different events each at the GHSA Sectional B meet hosted by East Laurens High School in Barnesville May 6.

Baseball a pillar for Ingram family

For the Ingram family, the sport of baseball is not simply just a passion or a hobby, it is one of the pillars used to build the foundation of their entire way of life.

Diamond Devils end season in Sweet Sixteen

The Elbert County Diamond Devils had their season come to an end after a pair of heartbreaking losses at home to Social Circle in the Sweet 16 of the GHSA state playoffs May 4. “Obviously we didn’t finish the way we wanted to finish,” Ingram said.

The event will take place July 10-12 at the Omni Professional Golf Association Frisco Resort in Frisco, Texas.

Elbert County senior Abby Bryant has been invited by the National High School Golf Association to compete in the Girls National High School Golf Invitational July 10-12 at the Omni Professional Golf Association (PGA) Frisco Resort in Frisco, Texas.

Proclaiming a surprise retirement

A surprise presentation was made Friday, April 28 during the annual Friends Helping Friends basketball game at Elbert County Comprehensive High School that honored former Blue Devil Mecole Hardman Jr. by retiring his jersey.

Track teams claim individual championships

A total of 12 Elbert County Blue Devils and Lady Devils across seven different events secured region championships from the Region 8A Division 1 Championship Meet hosted by Elbert April 25 and 26.

Devils boast region players of the year

A pair of Elbert County freshman were recognized with player of the year honors in their respective all-region awards last week after the all-region teams were announced for both baseball and soccer.

Diamond Devils trounce Trion, set to face Social Circle Thursday

Another Top 10 matchup is in the cards for the No. 4 Elbert County Diamond Devils as they are set to face No. 7 Social Circle May 4 in the second round of the GHSA state playoffs after a two-game sweep of Trion in the first round. “It’s going to be a David and Goliath type deal.

The Elbert County Blue Devils and Lady Devils golf teams dominated the competition on their way to sweeping the Area 1A Division 1 championship hosted by Commerce at Double Oaks Golf Club on Monday.
