Mat Devils are state bound

The Elbert County Mat Devils are sending six wrestlers to Macon for their shot at an individual state championship during the GHSA Traditional Wrestling State Championships after  a successful showing in the GHSA Class A Sectionals Feb. 11.

Lady Devils take region

Elbert County’s Lady Devils were able to give Head Coach Josh Jones his 100th win of his head coaching career and avenge their loss against Rabun County as they defeated the Lady Cats 52-41 in the Inferno Feb. 7.

Net Devils start season with new coach, classification and region

The 2023 Elbert County tennis season brings a new coach, a new classification and a new region into the fold as the Blue Devils and Lady Devils tennis teams look to build on last year’s growth.

Devils hope to build off veteran experience, leadership in upcoming season

The Elbert County Blue Devils soccer team officially returned to action for the 2023 season against White County Feb. 10 in the Granite Bowl. In the upcoming season, Head Coach Luke Hall said he looks to lean on veteran experience and leadership as the Devils continue to grow as a program.

Rifle team begins season 5-1, second in region

Elbert County Comprehensive High School’s rifle team has kicked off the new season with a scorching start after posting a 5-1 record as of Feb. 13. Maj. Ed Lovin said while his rifle team only has five members, the group is beating schools from higher classifications thanks to consistent results.

The Elbert County Mat Devils finished the Area 8A Traditional Tournament Feb. 4 at Commerce with three individual area champions, two area runners-up and 10 wrestlers who qualified for the GHSA State Traditional Sectionals.
