Lady Devils, Devils competing in summer games, camps

The Elbert County Lady Devils softball team is set for a rematch with the Lady Bulldogs on the road as they’re scheduled to travel to Hartwell July 20 for a game against Hart at 6:30 p.m. followed by a game against Commerce at 8 p.m.

Elbert County’s Lady Devils golf team are braving the Texas heat as they kicked off competition July 10 in the 2023 Girls High School Golf National Invitational in Frisco, Texas. Pictured above, (L-R) Ellie Wheeler, Emalise Andrews, Abby Bryant and Ava Dye started with an 18-hole round Monday.
The ECLL Junior League baseball team includes Eli Alexander, Ky Alford, Matthew Coker, Brock Dye, Carson Eaves, Eli Evans, Brayden Lyons, Carlos Martinez, Harrison Ray, Owen Robertson, Dakota Toole, Mitchell Wheeler and Head Coach Adam Toole.

Little League All-Star teams fall in state, district tournaments

The Elbert County Little League (ECLL) 10 to 12-year-old Softball All-Star team finished off their season July 10 in the state tournament held in Rabun County after falling in games to Oconee County and Bartow County Elbert’s tournament run started with an 11-0 loss to Oconee in their first game.
The Elbert County Little League 10-12 Softball All-Star team includes Willow Baston, Sophie Black, Sterling Blanford, Lily Bobo, Evie Page Bradford, Ayden Evans, Arabella Garcia, Cassidy James, Jailee Jones, Makayla McKnight, Olivia Paramore, Ashley Sanders and Head Coach Heather Chapman.

The Elbert County Little League 10 to 12-year-old Softball All-Star team clinched the Georgia District 7 Little League Championship after a 13-6 win over Hart County June 20.
The Elbert County AAA All-Star team features Harris Amabile, Brody Bagwell, Jacob Easterburg, Liam Evans, Kane Hunter, Remi Mills, Lucus Smith, Skyler Shirley, Landon Spearman, Bradley Williams, Job Wilder, Satcher Young and Head Coach Justin Bellew.

The Elbert County AAA All-Star team features Harris Amabile, Brody Bagwell, Jacob Easterburg, Liam Evans, Kane Hunter, Remi Mills, Lucus Smith, Skyler Shirley, Landon Spearman, Bradley Williams, Job Wilder, Satcher Young and Head Coach Justin Bellew.

A pair of Elbert County Little League baseball All-Star teams recently began their quest to make it to the Little League World Series as the Georgia Little League District 7 tournaments kicked off June 22.

Ava Dye, Emalise Andrews and Ellie Wheeler will join team member Abby Bryant in Frisco, Texas at the 2023 Girls High School Golf National Invitational Tournament held at the brand new Professional Golf Association (PGA) Frisco campus July 10 through July 12.

Devils Compete in state line FCA Classic

A trio of Elbert County Baseball players and Head Coach Lance Ingram were invited to compete as members of Team Georgia in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Georgia/South Carolina Baseball Classic hosted by Emmanuel College at Tommy Carey Baseball Field June 1.
The Nationals were crowned the 11-12-year-old softball champions after defeating the Cubs 17-12. The team includes Camdyn Kurtz, Lily Bobo, Kyonona Butler, Sophie Black, Jasper Butler, Reece Oakley, Erica Christian, Tiyah Turman, Cassidy James, Brooklynn Davis and Lillian Butler. Keith Floyd is head coach.

Elbert County Little League (ECLL) wrapped up their 2023 regular season after crowning a new batch of champions in each age division. The Phillies defeated the Braves by a score of 20-15 June 2 to win the 8-10-year-old softball championship.
