Mary Toney, a cornerstone for over half of Elbert Memorial Hospital’s nearly 73 years of operation, is set to retire from the hospital Friday after 47 years of service.

Elbert County School District (ECSD) Assistant Superintendent and Director of Facilities Robert Wheeler was unanimously approved by the Elbert County Board of Education (BOE) as the sole finalist for superintendent during Monday’s regular meeting.

Authority approves $272,000 contract for new CEO

Tyler Taylor will take over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Elbert Memorial Hopsital (EMH) next week with a $272,000 annual salary after a three-year contract was approved during a called meeting of the Elberton-Elbert County Hospital Authority Feb. 16.

County approves ARPA funding for nonprofits
