County approves $35 million budget

Just shy of three months past the July 1 deadline, the Elbert County Board of Commissioners approved a $35 million budget for the 2023 fiscal year (FY) that includes a $1.4 million increase in the county’s general fund expenditures.

Bowman plans for park projects

The Bowman City Council prioritized their plans to revitalize the Bowman City Park using funds received from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) during a called meeting Sept. 21.

Elbert County Comprehensive High School’s (ECCHS) annual homecoming activities will be held this week, beginning with the homecoming parade Wednesday, Sept. 28 and followed by the homecoming football game Thursday, Sept. 29.

Voter registration deadline Oct. 11

Voter registration for the upcoming Nov. 8 general election will close Tuesday, Oct. 11. Those wishing to vote in the election must register to vote before the deadline. Registration can be done  in-person at the Elbert County Registrars’ Office  located at 45 Forest Ave.
