The Elberton-Mure Sister City program celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2023, with plans to officially again its student exchange in 2024 following a hiatus due to COVID-19.

Solar hearing postponed

A public hearing for a rezone request that would bring a solar farm facility to the area of Balchin Road has been requested to be postponed by the developer.

Hospital records substantial YTD bottom line increase

Elbert Memorial Hospital (EMH) recorded a substantial increase in its bottom line for year-to-date (YTD) numbers through the end of October compared to numbers from the prior year. The numbers were reported during the hospital's Nov. 28 regular meeting.
