Raiders construct new obstacle course

The Elbert County Raiders are preparing to host their only home meet of the season Oct. 14 and are currently constructing a new obstacle course for use by the cadets. So far this year the mixed team has not finished below second place as they finished second at the Winder-Barrow meet Sept.

Requesting a digest investigation

A pair of Elbert County citizens have sent a letter to the Georgia Commissioner of Revenue asking for the state to review the county’s property tax assessments and to “refuse to certify the Elbert County tax digest until it...make[s] its own investigation.

Foundation work for capitol projects approaching

The City of Elberton is hoping to start the foundation work in December for the speculative building being constructed in the Elberton Industrial Park, City Manager Lanier Dunn announced during the city’s Oct. 2 regular meeting.

Volley Devils advance to area tournament with play-in win

The Elbert County Volley Devils have advanced to the Area Tournament after defeating Athens Christian by a score of 3-2 in the Area Tournament play-in game Oct. 2.
