Now halfway through the 2024 fiscal year (FY), the Elbert County Board of Commissioners are in financially good shape compared to the previous year, according to financial reports from Chief Financial Officer Macie Witcher.
Elbert County was well represented during the annual Eggs and Issues breakfast sponsored by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Jan. 10. Pictured are (L-R) Elbert County Chamber of Commerce Board Member Quinn Floyd, also of AQ Stone Designs, Mayor Daniel Graves, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency Board Secretary and Friends Helping Friends Club, Inc. Tennis courts nearly complete in time for upcoming season

Council approves funding for commercial spaces

Renovation of the two commercial spaces in the former “Bailey Buidling” on the downtown square will continue after the Elberton City Council unanimously approved an application from the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to complete the renovations during Monday night’s meeting.
