In front of a standing room only courtroom, the Elbert County Planning and Zoning Commission voted 4-1 to recommend the Elbert County Board of Commissioners deny a request for a conditional use permit to allow a 900 acre solar facility off of Lincolnton Highway.

City receives $1.25 million 'grant,' largest to-date

The Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) has awarded the City of Elberton with a $2.5 million Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) loan to “finance improving the city’s water system,” according to a Jan. 29 press release from GEFA.
