City approves pad for new fire facility

The City Council of the City of Elberton approved just under $350,000 worth of purchases during their Sept. 9 regular meeting, including a concrete apron for the new fire training facility being constructed off of Calhoun Falls Highway.

Residents evacuated after tanker catches fire

The Georgia Army National Guard hosted local and state dignitaries and local veterans of the 1-214th Field Artillery Battalion on Wednesday, Aug. 28 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of a two-year renovation project updating the Elberton Armory.

Elberton Walmart completes remodel

By Julie Weeks jweeks@elberton.com   Elberton Walmart #1701 celebrated the completion of a major remodeling of its location in Elberton Wednesday, Aug. 30.  The 57,000 square foot store underwent a 13-week transformation that adds significant updates and enhancements.

Sheriff announces major drug bust

BOE proposes slight raise in property taxes
