Helene and high water

By Julie Weeks jweeks@elberton.com    In the early hours of Friday, Sept. 27 Elbert County residents experienced an unprecedented storm in the form of Hurricane Helene, which had hit Florida as a category 4 hurricane the day before.

Homecoming festivities planned for week of Oct 7

By Kennedy Ray ECCHS Correspondent   Elbert County Comprehensive High School (ECCHS) recently announced details for the upcoming homecoming spirit week, dance, parade and pep rally.  The annual parade and pep rally will be Thursday, Oct.  10. and the dance will follow on Saturday, Oct. 12.

EMH provides mammograms with “cristalle’ clear results

By Julie Weeks jweeks@elberton.com   Patients requiring mammography screening and diagnostics performed at Elbert Memorial Hospital (EMH) will be utilizing a new X-ray machine, the Fuji Cristalle, provided in part by the Elbert Memorial Hospital Foundation.

BOC approves millage rates

Safety Matters

Candidate forum scheduled for Oct. 1

Reward offered for info on missing man

By Julie Weeks jweeks@elberton.com    The Elbert County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday an anonymous donor will provide a $2,000 reward for information leading to the safe return or regarding the whereabouts of 74 year-old Elberton resident Freddie Dubose.
