With a prolonged unapproved budget looming, the Elbert County Board of Commissioners will look to approve the final 2022 fiscal year budget by the middle of the month, but not without making tough decisions on a wage increase amount for the county’s employees.

County ordinance on mobile homes approved by BOC

The Elbert County Code of Ordinances will now prohibit the placing of any mobile homes on land not owned by the mobile home owner after the Elbert County Board of Commissioners voted 4-1, with commissioner Chris Alexander voting opposed, to amend the ordinance at Monday night’s regular meeting.

An Elberton man, Andricus Corriyous Henderson, 24, of 1629 Athens Highway died as the result of injuries he sustained in a fiery crash when the vehicle he was driving slammed into an Elbert County School bus on Georgia Highway 368 last week.
