Wells joins Elbert Memorial staff as general surgeon

Elbert Memorial Hospital (EMH) is pleased to welcome Dr. Jason Wells, General Surgeon, to the hospital’s medical staff. Wells completed an undergraduate degree in microbiology in 2002 and continued his studies to earn a Medical Degree from The University of Michigan in 2007.

Splash pad funds allocated

Funding for a splash pad water park has been allocated after a 3-2 vote from the Elberton City Council Monday night to approve a budget memo for the $803,303 the city received in its second tranche of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) monies.

Hospital enters into loan, line of credit

The Elberton-Elbert County Hospital Authority and Executive Committee authorized entering into up to a combined $750,000 through a promissory note from the Elbert Memorial Hospital (EMH) Foundation and a line of credit from Regions Bank during the September meetings.

County approves $35 million budget

Just shy of three months past the July 1 deadline, the Elbert County Board of Commissioners approved a $35 million budget for the 2023 fiscal year (FY) that includes a $1.4 million increase in the county’s general fund expenditures.
