The Lady Devils are in sole control of first place for Region 8 of Class A Division 1 after the Elbert County softball team defeated region opponent Commerce High School Sept. 20 at Wesley King Field.

Devils dominate Warriors, move to 5-0

The Elbert County Blue Devils improved their season record to 5-0 after being tested in the first half, but ultimately defeating the Jefferson County High School Warriors 21-3 in a closely contested, penalty-ridden affair.

Lady Volley Devils add pair of wins

With two matches left to play in their third season in history, the Elbert County Lady Volley Devils tripled their all-time win total after wins against Franklin County High School and Cedar Shoals High School Sept. 22 in Carnesville. As of Sept.

Lady Rams end historic season

The Lady Rams volleyball team’s historic inaugural season came to an end after playing in the Gainesville East Middle School Volleyball Championship tournament Sept. 24 in Banks County.

Bryant receives champion ring

Girls individual state champion Abby Bryant was presented her state champion ring during Monday night’s Elbert County Board of Education meeting. Bryant, now a senior at Elbert County Comprehensive High School, was crowned the 2022 AA Girls State Golf Champion in May.

Tiger hurdle no match for Devils

The Elbert County Blue Devils, who are the tenth-ranked team in Class A Division 1, defeated the Washington-Wilkes High School Tigers, who were ranked fifth in Class A Division 2, 32-30 on the road Sept. 16 in Washington.

The Elbert County Lady Volley Devils are now 7-16 on the season after adding two more wins in back-to-back days where they defeated Commerce High School 2-0 on the road in an area game Sept. 13 and Washington-Wilkes High School 2-0 Sept. 14 in Washington.
