Mat Rams go 3-0 at region duals Nov. 10

Elbert County Middle School’s wrestling team went 3-0 at the region duals hosted by Stephens County Nov. 10, defeating Madison County, Stephens County and Rabun County. The Rams dominated all three matches as they won against Madison 68-30, downed Rabun County 71-27 and beat Stephens 66-27.

The Elbert County Middle School (ECMS) Wrestling Rams finished in first place overall for their first regular season event as they hosted the Ram Invitational in the Inferno Nov. 5.

Elbert County senior softball player Ava Lunsford was selected to compete alongside 82 of the best high school seniors in the state during the Georgia Dugout Club (GADC) All-State games at Truist Park Nov. 13.

NGYFA playoffs to be held in Granite Bowl Saturday, Nov. 12

All five of the Elbert County Parks and Recreation Department (ECPR) football teams that competed in the first round of the North Georgia Youth Football Association (NGYFA) playoffs have advanced to the semi-final round of their respective tournaments that will be hosted in the Granite Bowl Nov. 12.

Devils set sights on second round of playoffs

The first round of the Georgia High School Association football playoffs are set to return to Elbert County for the third consecutive season as the 9-1 Blue Devils are scheduled to host 6-4 Pepperell High School Nov. 11 in the historic Granite Bowl.
The Elbert County Comprehensive High School mixed Raiders team brought home the state championship after the state meet in Griffin Oct. 29. The mixed team is made up of Raiders Kalebb Ingle, Heidi Navarro, Justin Brown, Phillip Bolden, Eva Garcia-Laguna, Linda-Garcia Laguna, Tyson Haigood, Jamaze Hall, Josiah Harkins, Isabella Harpold, Wyatt Stelter, Selenda Valdivia and Aiden Clark.

Devils defeat Eagles to finish regular season 9-1

The Elbert County Blue Devils finished their regular season with nine wins for the 10th time in program history after dominating Athens Christian on the road Oct. 28. “We knew going into it that it was going to be a dog fight, especially early,” Head Coach Shannon Jarvis said.

Devil and Lady Devil runners end year with season-best times

Elbert County’s cross country teams ended their seasons on a high note as six runners finished the region championship meet with season-best times Oct. 27 in Tallulah Falls. The Devils had four runners post season-best times while the Lady Devils had two runners to post season-best times.
