Shokoa Plummer to 'Wake Up' the stage

Elberton native Shokoa Plummer is set to bring an original production to center stage of the Elbert Theatre as "Wake Up" is set to debut June 7.  "I wrote this play over 15 years ago, so its a revised version and is titled "Wake Up: Hell is Real," Plummer said.

BOC approves widening project

The Elbert County Board of Commissioners (BOC) unanimously approved a motion May 12 to develop design plans to widen a portion of Petersburg Road and to install a sidewalk on the northern side of the road from Elbert Street to Wildwood Apartments.
