Elbert County early voting for local referendums, PSC Tuesday

Early voting will get underway Tuesday for Elbert County voters for the Nov. 4 general special election for the District 2 Public Service Commissioner (PSC). Along with the vote for a new PSC, two county-wide referendums regarding two local option sales tax funds will be on the ballot.

Elbert County rings in 2025 state champions

Lady Devils softball closing out strong regular season

Postseason play is looming on the horizon for the Elbert County softball team, with just three regular season games left on the schedule. The Lady Devils are currently 22-3 and sport an undefeated 11-0 region record.

Elbert cross country hosts home meet

Elbert County hosted its home cross country meet this past Thursday, running at the scenic Camp Harmony in the Granite City Invitational. Though it was a cloudy evening with intermittent light rain, runners enjoyed a lakeside view and a heavily wooded area as they ran the three-mile race.

Blue Devils beat Commerce for second straight win

The Elbert County defense turned in another stifling performance on Friday night, shutting down Commerce in a 16-6 road victory.

Elbert volleyball finishes regular season, competes in area playoffs

It’s playoff time for Elbert County volleyball. The Lady Devils wrapped up the regular season last week with a 16-15 record, good for the first winning season in program history and the most wins Elbert volleyball has had in a season.

EMH using state of the art tech to conduct mammograms

Elbert Memorial Hospital (EMH) is using state-of-the-art machines to conduct mammograms right here in Elbert County. For the past two years, the hospital has been using the Fujifilm ASPIRE Cristalle, which was funded in part by the EMH Foundation and is a mammography machine of the highest caliber.

October 4-5 provides a unique early season firearms opportunity for hunters in most Georgia counties to take only antlerless deer.
