Elbert County native Starke Jaudon recounts 20-year military career

One of Elbert County's own sons, Starke Jaudon, made a living out of service to his country. Born in Elbert County and raised on Forest Avenue in Elberton, Starke attended Elberton High School and later attended Gordon Military College for three years.

Lady Devils’ softball season ends against Thomasville

Elbert County softball came up short in the state playoffs last week, losing two out of three games to Thomasville in their double elimination matchup. The Bulldogs will advance to Columbus for the elite eight.

Elberton Downtown Skelebration, Fall Festival this weekend

A busy weekend is ahead as the Main Street Elberton is set to host two of its biggest events of the year on back-to-back days. The festivities are scheduled to begin Friday, with the annual Downtown Skelebration, set to kick off at 4 p.m. on the downtown square.
