Blue Devils cross country chugs along at Franklin

The Elbert County cross country teams were back at it last Thursday, Oct. 16, running in the Jan Taylor Invite hosted by Franklin County High School. The Blue Devils’ boys team finished seventh overall.

Elbert County softball breezes past Putnam in state playoffs

Elbert County volleyball’s season ends in state playoffs against Model

The Elbert County volleyball team made its first state playoff appearance in program history last week and traveled to Rome for a first round match against Model High School. The No. 23 seed Lady Devils fought hard against the No. 10 seed, but ultimately fell in three sets (25-15, 25-10, 25-19).

Elbert County football overmatched by ACAD

Elbert football wasn’t able to keep up with Athens Academy on Friday night in a 48-14 road loss. Things got off to a fast start for both teams, but the Blue Devils’ offense eventually ran out of gas while the Spartans kept rolling.

Elberton 12-County Fair returns to spread fall cheer

The Elberton 12-County Fair made its return to Elbert County last week, bringing fun and smiles to all who went. Some of the headlining events for this year's fair include a big-top circus, a Michael Jackson tribute performance, a hypnotist, the Banana Derby and two on-site petting zoos.

Elbert County Primary School and Elementary School named Title I Reward Schools

The Elbert County Board of Education recognized Elbert County Primary School and Elbert County Elementary School for their state designation as Title I Reward Schools at their monthly meeting Monday Evening.

Cross country returns to Athens for Kramer Classic

Elbert County cross country was back in Athens last Wednesday running in the Kent Kramer Classic hosted by Athens Christian. The Blue Devil boys finished 13th out of 18 schools competing. Sophomore Eli Alexander led the way for Elbert with a time of 19 minutes and 51.

Elbert County volleyball earns its first state playoff berth

The Elbert County Lady Devils are officially playoff bound. Elbert qualified for the GHSA Class A state volleyball championship for the first time in school history. The Lady Devils are the No. 23 team in the 32-team bracket, which was released Sunday afternoon.
