Lady Devils pick up comeback win over Franklin

Elbert County’s Lady Devils softball team picked up a huge 8-7 comeback win over Franklin County at Wesley King Field Aug. 26.  Franklin entered the game ranked No. 9 in AA by Coaches Box Georgia and had already beaten the Lady Devils 9-5 Aug. 15 at home.

Devils finish 10th at North Georgia Championships

The Elbert County Blue Devils cross country team brought home a 10th-place finish at the North Georgia Championships hosted by East Jackson Aug. 24, as every Elbert runner on both the girls and boys teams posted improved times from last week’s meet.

Net Devils improve to 3-5 with win over Lady Tigers

Elbert County’s Net Devils picked up a big win on the road over Washington-Wilkes Aug. 20 to snag their third win on the season. The Lady Devils won the first set 25-13 and the second set 25-12 as they finished a 2-0 shutout win over the Lady Tigers.

Georgia dove hunting season opens September 7

Georgia Department of Natural Resources  Press Release   According to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division (WRD), opening day will kick off the season on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Turnovers cost Devils against Dogs

The Elbert County Blue Devils football team started the new season off 0-1 after losing to Hart County in the Granite Bowl Aug. 16.

Lady Devils split season series with Hart

After picking up a win in their first game against Hart County on the road Aug. 6, the Lady Devils fell in the rematch at Wesley King Field Aug. 19.  The loss to Hart drops the Lady Devils to 2-5 on the season as they navigate their tough early season schedule.

Cross Country starts off season in Athens

Cross Country teams run into new season

After finishing as the No. 6 public school in the Class A Division 1 last season, the Elbert County Cross Country team is looking to take advantage of the public-private split to have an even higher finish under second-year Head Coach Kyle Ashworth.

Volley Devils growing in ability and support

Elbert County’s Volley Devils kicked off their 2024 season last week and are looking to build on teamwork, effort and attitude as they look to the future of their program.  “Teamwork, effort and attitude are goals we have for our team,” Head Coach Anya Human said Aug. 12.
