Blue Devils lose to Red Devils

The Elbert County Blue Devils fell to 1-3 on the season after they were defeated 31-28 by a hard-nosed Lincoln County squad Sept. 12. The Blue Devils out-gained Lincoln by 124 yards on offense, but turnovers continue to haunt Elbert late in games.

Lady Devils hold second in region after win over Oglethorpe

Elbert County’s Lady Devils softball team took control of second place in the Region 8A Division 1 standings after beating Oglethorpe County 11-3 at home Sept. 10.  The two teams entered the game tied for second place in the region standings with matching 2-1 region records.

Volley Devils to see Monsignor Donovan tomorrow

Elbert County’s Lady Devils are scheduled to face off with familiar foe Monsignor Donovan Sept. 19 as they look to finish off a season sweep of the Lady Rams.  Elbert is scheduled to see the Lady Rams for the second time this year after beating them at home by a score of 3-0 Aug.

Elbert finishes with two medalists

The Elbert County Blue Devils and Lady Devils cross country teams finished with one medalist each at the Bill Woods Pridelands High School Invitational hosted by Franklin County Sept. 7.  Dakota Toole finished  in third overall in the boys race with a time of 19 minutes and 46.

Lady Devils get win over Providence, lose to Banks

Elbert County’s Lady Devils softball team bounced back from a loss to Banks County Sept. 3 to dominate Providence Christian by a score of 9-1 as the Lady Devils moved to 3-1 in region play.

Elbert gets first win over Wesleyan

The Elbert County Blue Devils football team is back in the win column after earning a big 49-35 win over Wesleyan, the No. 6-ranked private school from Class A Division 1 to AAA.

The Elbert County Lady Devils volleyball team picked up their first win over Stephens County in program history as they went 2-2 last week.  After a full week off from their 2-0 loss to Harlem Aug. 20, the Lady Devils came into their pair of Aug.

The Elbert County Lady Devils softball team is 2-0 in region play after dominating a game against Commerce Aug. 27 and fending off a comeback attempt from Rabun County Aug. 29 to kick off their region schedule.  After picking up a big comeback win over Franklin County Aug.

Devils fall to 0-2 in Toccoa

Elbert County’s Blue Devil football team came up just short in the final quarter of play in a road game against the No. 2 team in AA, Stephens County.  “Our kids played their hearts out, but when you’re sloppy, there’s no reward for that,” Head Coach Shannon Jarvis said.
