Lady Devils fighting for region

After starting off the 2025 season with a 16-0 record, the No. 2-ranked Elbert County Lady Devils basketball team is hoping to close out the regular season on a strong note in their quest for another region title.  The Lady Devils are 17-1 on the year and are ranked No.

Devils fighting for seeding in region

The Elbert County Blue Devils basketball team is fighting for a higher seed in the Region 8A Division 1 Tournament as they play their final four region games of the season.  The Devils are 2-5 in region play, with a 55-54 win over Athens Academy Dec. 20 and a 73-57 win over Oglethorpe County Jan.

Mat Devils finish dual season at state

Elbert County’s Mat Devils wrestling team is setting its sights on traditional season after Elbert’s dual season ended with a trip to the GHSA State Championship Duals Jan. 17 and 18.  Elbert’s short traditional season is scheduled to start off with a bang as they host the Inferno Invitational Jan.
The 2024-2025 varsity basketball cheerleaders include Riyahanna Ardister, Kendall Baston, Brylie Burdette, Jennifer Flores, Kelsie Hayes, Leah Higginbotham, Jaslyn Huff, Lila Layne, Cadence Noggle, Jurnee Porter, Brailey Sims, Bailee Starrett, Ja’Nydra Watts and Ijianah Whiten. Cheer squad mixes new with old to fire up fans

As the Lady Devils and Blue Devils basketball teams fight through their seasons, the Elbert County basketball cheer squad lines the sidelines of the hardwood and encourages fans to join in and give the teams the extra edge needed to win ball games.

Mat Devils headed to state

Elbert County’s Mat Devils are state-bound after finishing second overall at the Area 8A Dual Championships hosted by the Devils in the Inferno Jan. 9. The area duals tournament was rescheduled from Jan. 11 to Jan.

Lady Devils to see Banks Friday

The Elbert County Lady Devils are set for a week of travel as they were scheduled to face Commerce on the road Jan. 14 before heading to Banks County Jan. 17 and Warren County Jan. 18.

Lady Devils win McDonald’s Shootout

Elbert County’s Lady Devils basketball team  is up to No. 2 in the state after extending their winning streak to 14 games by winning the McDonald’s Shootout hosted by Hart County Dec. 27 and 28.

Devils beat Wade Hampton, fall to Hart in shootout

The Elbert County Blue Devils basketball team picked up their sixth win of the season over Wade Hampton Dec. 27, but fell to hosts Hart County in the championship game of McDonald’s Shootout Dec. 28.
