Lady Devils finish off ‘memorable’ season

By Kennedy Ray Star ECCHS Correspondent   The Elbert County Comprehensive High School (ECCHS) Lady Devils closed out their soccer season with a 9-0 loss to the Bremen Blue Devils in the second round of the state playoffs, concluding a season that featured both growth and memorable achievements.

A host of Devils and Lady Devils qualified for the upcoming GHSA State Championship Meet after strong finishes in the Sectional Meet May 5.  For the Lady Devils, Trinity Allen, Aaliyah Allen and Ameriyanna Hill qualified for the 100-meter after finishing in the Top 8 at the sectional meet.

The Elbert County Lady Devils soccer team punched their ticket to the second round of the GHSA State Playoffs after beating No. 17-seed Bleckley County by a score of 4-1 in the first round.  Elbert went into the game as the No.
Jacari Barnett and the Elbert County Blue Devils track team finished second overall in the Region 8A Divison 1 Championship meet April 21 through 23. The Lady Devils also came away with a seocnd-place region finish.

The Elbert County Blue Devils and Lady Devils track teams both finished in second place overall at the Region 8A Division 1 Championship Meet hosted by Rabun County April 21 through April 23.

The Elbert County Blue Devils golf team won their third area championship in a row at the Area 3 Championship match held at Arrowhead Pointe April 28.  Meanwhile the Lady Devils also competed in the Area 3 Championship and finished as area runners-up.

Diamond Devils to host ACE in first round

The Elbert County Diamond Devils are playoff bound yet again as they are scheduled to host ACE Charter of Macon in the first-round of the GHSA State Playoffs April 25.  The Devils earned the No. 16 seed in the tournament and will face No. 17 ACE.
