The Elbert County band is entering a new era. Corey Hopson is in his first year as band director after four years at Elbert County Middle School, and is putting a fresh spin on the halftime show this season.

New-look Blue Devils ready for first season under Dyer

Elbert County football was thrown for a loop when head coach Shannon Jarvis suddenly stepped down after the 2024 season to become the school system’s assistant superintendent. The Blue Devils were coming off a 7-6 season and a second straight appearance in the Class A Division II quarterfinal.

New Elbert County season kicking off in Hart County

The Elbert County Blue Devils football team is kicking off its new football season Aug. 15 with a big rivalry game against Hart County. The 67th meeting between the two bitter rivals is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Herndon Stadium in Hartwell.

Devils overwhelm Tigers in scrimmage

Elbert County got its first taste of football season last Friday when the Blue Devils beat Washington-Wilkes 55-20 in a preseason scrimmage at the Granite Bowl.

Elbert County Athletics moving to digital tickets

Paper tickets are a thing of the past at Elbert County Comprehensive High School  (ECCHS) and Elbert County Middle School (ECMS) sporting events as ECCHS Athletic Director Jeannie Jourolmon announced Monday that Elbert County Athletics will only be accepting digital tickets for the upcoming season.

Former players remember Coach McFerrin

Boys golf wins state, girls finish second

History has again been made in Elbert County as the Blue Devils golf team won this year's GHSA State Championship while the Lady Devils finished as runners-up for the second time in program history during the GHSA Golf State Championships held at Arrowhead Pointe May 19 through May 20.

Diamond Devils earn all-region honors

Elbert County Diamond Devils pitcher Haven Adams was named the Region 8A Division 1 Pitcher of the Year while eight Devils were named to the all-region team.  Adams was also named first-team all-region alongside third baseman Sam Amabile and outfielder Branson Bonds.
