Elbert County cross country has season-best showing

Elbert County cross country turned in its strongest performance of the year at the Southern Traditions XC Jamboree, hosted by Tallulah Falls School at The Farm Course on Thursday. Junior runner Dakota Toole was Elbert’s top finisher, coming in at ninth overall with a time of 19 minutes and 36.

Elbert County cross country runs at Athens Academy meet

Saturday in Athens means more than just college football. The Elbert County cross country team returned to the Classic City for another Saturday morning meet, running in the Athens Academy home meet on the morning of Sept. 6.

Elbert County volleyball team sets new season-high win total

Elbert County volleyball is having its most successful season as a program in 2025. The Lady Devils are up to 13 wins on the year, already the most in a season in team history. With region competition about to ramp up, the team is focused on maintaining its momentum.

Elbert native on the mark as competitive archer

Archery is a sport defined by concentration, obsessive repetition and immense patience. The margin for error is razor-thin, and the smallest lapse can make a world of difference. It takes great dedication to rise to the top.

Elbert cross country puts in season-best at Hart County

The Elbert County cross country team ran in the Bulldog Classic hosted by Hart County Wednesday, Aug. 27 and had its best performance so far of the young season. Junior Dakota Toole turned in another solid outing, finishing 13th overall and first on the team with a time of 20 minutes and 10.

Elbert County volleyball team picks up 10th win at home

The Elbert County volleyball team is having its best start in program history, and the momentum continued last week with the Lady Devils winning three of their four matches on the week of August 25. The Lady Devils traveled to Athens for a tri-match against Cedar Shoals and Greene County.

Blue Devils' comeback falls short at Wesleyan

Elbert County nearly climbed out of a 14-point hole on Friday night at Wesleyan, but couldn’t complete the comeback and fell to the Wolves 14-7. The Devils got off to a slow start offensively, but remained on Wesleyan’s heels throughout the game and nearly stunned the Wolves in the fourth quarter.

Homers, walk off bring Lady Devils wins

It was an eventful week for the Elbert County softball team, who went three-up, three down in their trio of games against Commerce, Hart County and Rabun County.

Elbert County softball prepared to kick off region play

The Elbert County softball team has continued to stack wins to start the 2025 season, sporting a 7-2 record in nine games so far this fall. Last week, the Lady Devils picked up two comfortable victories over Stephens and Washington-Wilkes before falling 13-5 on the road at Prince Avenue Christian.

Volley Devils continue strong start

The Elbert County volleyball team continued its strong start to the 2025 season last week, sweeping George Walton Academy on the road Thursday to move to 7-4 on the year.
