Elbert County cross country races on in Jefferson

Elbert County cross country had its second meet of the year on Saturday, running in the North Georgia Championships hosted at Lamar Murphy Park by East Jackson High School in Jefferson. Junior Dakota Toole was Elbert’s top finisher in the boys race, finishing 37th with a time of 19 minutes 24.

Stephens breaks Blue Devils' hearts late

The feeling after Elbert County’s 21-17 loss to Stephens County in its home opener on Friday could only be described as disbelief. Everything happened so fast.

Elbert County cross country kicks off season in Athens

Elbert County cross country began the 2025 season by participating in the Northeast Georgia Cross Country Championships, hosted by Athens Christian on Aug. 16. It was a mildewy, partially muddy surface thanks to some rain the night before.

Lady Devils softball rebounds, wins four straight

The Elbert County softball team is off to a strong start in 2025. Though in their first game they ran into a talented Jefferson team that remains undefeated through eight games as of press time, the Blue Devils responded by ripping off four straight victories.

Volley Devils start season strong

  Elbert County volleyball is still in its relative infancy after playing its first match in 2020, and as expected the program did not see immediate success in its first few years of existence.

Miscues, Bulldogs bite Blue Devils in Hart County

A two-hour rain delay preceded Elbert County football’s season opener at Hart County on Friday night, and things didn’t get much easier for the Blue Devils once the weather cleared up. Elbert County lost 51-20 in a game that wound up delayed until 9:30 p.m.

Competition bringing best out of Elbert County softball team

Elbert County softball is entering its second season under head coach Bryce Bowen, after his debut campaign saw the Blue Devils go 15-15, including 10-2 in region play, before bowing out to Bremen in the Sweet 16 round of the GHSA State Tournament.

  When the Elbert County football team takes the field for the first time on Friday, they will again be backed by the school’s cheer squad, who will be supporting the Blue Devils from the sidelines as enthusiastically as ever.

New coach saves Elbert cross country team

Elbert County cross country has been steadily picking up momentum in recent years, with the team finishing sixth place in the state last year for its best finish in years. But all of that nearly came grinding to a halt this season.

Elbert County volleyball fielding ‘strongest team’ yet

Elbert County’s volleyball team is looking for another year of growth as it heads into its 2025-26 season. The relatively young program, which only played its first match in 2020, reached double-digit wins for the first time in its history last season.
