Elbert County golf teams searching for postseason form

The Elbert County golf teams have been through something of a gauntlet lately.Head coach Larry Kesler estimated that in the last week and a half, between tournaments and practice rounds, the boys’ and girls’ teams have combined to play over 100 holes of golf.

Main Street Elberton is slated to host one of their biggest events of the year, as the Easter Eggstravaganza will hit Elberton April 2.The event is slated to see a change this year as it moves from the downtown square to just down the road at Sutton Park.

It was a busy few days for the Elbert County golf teams. Over the weekend, the boys’ team traveled to Dalton for the Five Star Invitational Saturday while the girls competed at the West Georgia Lady Invitational in LaGrange from Friday to Saturday.

ECCHS tennis teams winding down regular season

The regular season is coming to an end for Elbert County tennis, with just two matches remaining until the region tournament starts in Winder on April 14.Last week, Elbert County hosted Banks County on Tuesday. The girls’ team claimed one game but ultimately lost the match 4-1.
