Amanda Brady an Elberton native, displays ‘Amanda Bands,’ a band she created to help relieve pressure off ears. With physicians and nurses wearing face masks during an entire work shift, mask bands are uncomfortable on the ears. Amanda’s creation, which have made her a celebrity in Savannah, has led to comfortable ears among healthcare workers.

Elbert County native Martha Vickery Hewell passes away at 100
Heardmont Nursing Home, located on Longstreet Road in eastern Elbert County, was cited by Gov. Brian Kemp’s report on long-term healthcare facilities in the state as having three positive cases of COVID-19 involving either residents or healthcare workers.
