Blue Devils storm back to overwhelm East Jackson for season-opening win

The first three quarters of Friday’s game at East Jackson were full of frustration for Elbert County.The fourth was a different story.After trailing 7-0 for most of the game the Blue Devils erupted late, scoring three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to earn a decisive 21-7 victory over the Eagles.

JAM Fest Taste of Elberton and Cake Auction this weekend

The 13th annual Friends Helping Friends Club Inc. JAM Fest Taste of Elberton and Cake Auction will be held Aug. 29 at the ROC at First Baptist Church Elberton. The event will feature food prepared by several local restaurants and caterers while listening to music performed by local youth groups.

Stephen Heard DAR celebrates 125 years

The Stephen Heard Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) met at the Elberton Civic Center Aug. 15 for a luncheon to celebrate 125 years of service to God, Home and Country. The theme for the occasion was “Patriots and Pearls.

Elbert County chamber banquet venue changed

The Elbert County Chamber of Commerce announced Aug. 24 that the upcoming Chamber of Commerce Banquet and Fundraiser is changing venues, giving attendees a chance to see one of Elbert County's recently completed projects.
The 2026 Elbert County band program is titled “Elemental Soul,” and will feature the music of iconic band Earth, Wind & Fire.

The 2026 Lady Devil cheer squad includes captain Alyssa Brown, co-captains Isabella Belli and Maya Alcalde, and Maddie Adamson, Jolee Ainsworth, Presley Bellew, Alyssa Brown, Matylee Brown, Bethany Burden, Riley Grace Collier, Grace Dixon, Allie Hulme, Sophie Lavender, Cassidy Montgomery, Juana Olvera, Olivia Paramore, Liberty Rousey, Kyler Shaw and Sequoia Singleton. Last season got off to a chaotic start for Elbert County cross country.There was no coach in place, and as a result, it was uncertain whether Elbert County would be able to field a team at all.

Elbert County volleyball aiming to build on playoff debut

Elbert County volleyball made its first playoff appearance in school history last season, and the Lady Devils are aiming to build on that success in 2026.Last season, Elbert County finished 16-15 in the regular season– its first winning season in program history.

Elbert County softball out to build on last year’s success

Last season ended too early for the Elbert County softball team’s liking, and the Lady Devils are intent on improving on 2025 with a trip to Columbus this year.The Lady Devils went 24-3 in the 2025 regular season, including a perfect 12-0 mark in region play.
