Elbert County crowns a queen on homecoming

Elbert County's newest queen is Jaslyn Huff after she was crowned homecoming queen during the halftime homecoming ceremony that took place during Elbert County's football game against Oglethorpe County in the Granite Bowl Sept. 19.

Elbert County volleyball ramps up region play

The final stretch of the regular season is on the horizon for Elbert County volleyball, who are currently 15-10 and sixth in 1A Area 8 with a 3-3 record in area play. The Lady Devils went 1-3 in their four matches last week and 1-1 this Tuesday.

Elberton native Patsy Neal gets Georgia Sports Hall of Fame enshrinement

One of Elberton’s greatest athletes will be inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame next winter when basketball great Patsy Neal is enshrined in the February ceremony.

Kong has night out on the Elbert Theatre stage

The next show on Encore Production's 2025 slate, "Kong's Night Out," is set to debut this weekend on-stage at the historic Elbert Theatre.

Blue Devils far and wide are set to return to town as Elbert County Comprehensive High School is hosts homecoming this weekend.

Elbert County cross country runs at Athens Academy meet

Saturday in Athens means more than just college football. The Elbert County cross country team returned to the Classic City for another Saturday morning meet, running in the Athens Academy home meet on the morning of Sept. 6.

Lady Devils softball team undefeated in region play

The Elbert County softball team had themselves another undefeated week last week, picking up wins over Banks, Providence Christian, Harlem and Vidalia. The Lady Devils are currently 13-3 on the season.

Elberton Community Impact Grant program returning

Elberton city manager Kevin Eavenson announced the return of the city’s Community Impact Grant program at the city council’s monthly meeting on Monday. The Community Impact Program, established last year, gives out grants to Elberton-based nonprofit organizations who work to improve the community.
