Devils fall to Oglethorpe in first round of playoffs

Devils start 1-1 in region with win over Eagles

Elbert County’s Blue Devils soccer team lost a close 3-2 game in double overtime against Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy Feb. 22 to drop to 1-1 in the region. The Devils opened the scoring in the game after Pablo Medellin earned a penalty for his side and converted the attempt to take a 1-0 lead.

Mat Devils boast five state placers

The Elbert County Mat Devils finished their season with a total of five state placers – including two state runners-up and three freshman placers – to finish fifth in the state as a team.

Devils finish third in region, will see Oglethorpe in Playoffs

The No. 3 seed Elbert County Blue Devils Basketball team are set to kick off first-round playoff action this week as they travel to No. 2 seed Oglethorpe County Feb. 21 after finishing in third place in the region standings.

Devils and Lady Devils named to all-region teams

The Elbert County Blue Devils and Lady Devils basketball teams had a total of three players named to the all-region teams and a total of three players who were named all-region honorable mention at the conclusion of the region tournament Feb. 16.

Lady Devils win play-in game for fourth place region finish

Postseason basketball makes its return to Elbert County Athletics tonight as the Lady Devils basketball team is scheduled to travel to Oglethorpe County for the first round of the GHSA State playoffs. Tonight’s matchup will see the No. 4 seed Lady Devils take on the No.

Catching a Super Bowl win

Former Elbert County Blue Devil and Bowman native Mecole Hardman Jr. caught the game winning touchdown of the 2024 Super Bowl, giving the Kansas City Chiefs back-to-back Super Bowl titles and Hardman’s third Super Bowl title of his career.

Devils defeat Hart, start season 2-0

The Elbert County Blue Devils soccer team kicked off their season with a pair of dominant wins over Washington-Wilkes and Hart County in the Granite Bowl to start 2-0 on the season. After facing off with Lincoln County in a preseason scrimmage Feb.

Mat Devils qualify eight for state championship

The Elbert County Mat Devils will take eight wrestlers to Class A Division 1 Traditional State Championship in Macon Feb. 15 through Feb. 17. Wrestlers earned the opportunity to compete for the state title after finishing in the Top 6 of the sectional round, held Feb. 10 at Dublin High School.
