Elbert Golf Teams record Top 5 finishes in weekend tournaments

The Elbert County Blue Devils and Lady Devils golf teams posted a pair of Top 5 finishes over the weekend at tournaments around the state. The Lady Devils, led by freshman Lucy Johnson, finished third at the Cougar Invitational in Villa Rica March 16.

Golf teams start season with prestigious tournaments

Elbert County’s Blue Devils and Lady Devils golf teams kicked off their 2024 season last month and are looking to build on last year’s performance that saw them both finish as area champions.

Tennis Teams sweep Barrow, scheduled to face Rabun

Elbert County’s Lady Devils and Blue Devils tennis teams recorded a clean sweep of Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy in a region match March 11.

Diamond Devils fall in doubleheader against Tallulah Falls

The Elbert County Diamond Devils fell in back-to-back games against No. 5 ranked Tallulah Falls March 7 to drop to 7-6 on the year. The Devils fell in the first game 3-2 and lost 7-3 in the second game of the doubleheader after beating the Indians 1-0 earlier in the week March 4.

Diamond Devils beat Tallulah to open region play

Elbert County’s Diamond Devils kicked off their Region 8A Division 1 schedule with a 1-0 win over No. 5 ranked Tallulah Falls March 4. The Devils entered the game ranked No. 8 in Class A Division 1 by Coaches Box Georgia while the Indians were ranked No.

Devils, Lady Devils play in weekend tournaments

The Elbert County Blue Devils competed in the Valhalla Cup while the Lady Devils competed in the Red Ryder Cup over the weekend. The Devils finished inside the Top 10 of their tournament while the Lady Devils finished inside the Top 15.

ECMS Tennis Rams face Hart

Elbert County Middle School’s Rams and Lady Rams tennis teams faced off with rival Hart County Feb. 29. The Rams were led by Adrian Jenkins who picked up a 9-7 win in the No. 1 singles match.

Soccer teams fall to Rabun

The Elbert County Blue Devils and Lady Devils soccer teams fell to Rabun County on the road Feb. 28 on a cold windy night in Tiger. The Lady Devils got things started and fell to the Lady Cats by a score of 8-1.

The Elbert County Lady Devils basketball team finished off their season in style as they downed No. 1 seed Oglethorpe on the road in the first round of the GHSA State Playoffs Feb. 21.

Lady Devils start 2-0 in region after win over Barrow

The Elbert County Lady Devils soccer team is 2-0 in region play after back-to-back wins over Athens Christian Feb. 20 and Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy (BASA) Feb. 22. The Lady Devils got their region schedule started with a 10-0 thrashing of Athens Christian.
