Devils finish 15th in state

The Elbert County Blue Devils Cross Country team finished 15th in the state at the GHSA Class A Division 1 State Championship Meet held in Carrollton Nov. 3.
A total of five Lady Devils were named to the Region 8A DIvision 1 All-Region team while three additional Elbert athletes were named honorable mention. The all-region team is voted on by coaches from within the region.

ECMS kicks off winter sports with Ram invitational, basketball wins

Elbert County Middle School wrestling recently kicked off the new season with a second-place finish at the Ram Invitational at the Inferno Nov. 4. Finishing first in their division for the Rams was Matt Coker at 139 pounds and Jayden Thompson at 147 pounds.
Kamryn Webb was named the Region 8A Division 1 Pitcher of the Year Oct. 30. In addition to Webb’s honor, eight Lady Devils were named to the all-region team.

The Elbert County Lady Devils continue to be home to the Region Pitcher of the Year after sophomore Kamryn Webb received this year’s honor, Head Coach Drew Greer announced Oct. 30. Greer announced the honor, along with eight additional members to the all-region team.

Devils punch ticket to state, finish third in region meet

The Elbert County Blue Devils cross country team finished in third place at the Region 1A Division 1 Championship meet hosted by Athens Christian Oct. 26, earning them a spot in the upcoming GHSA State Championship Meet. “We were really happy with how we finished,” Head Coach Kyle Ashworth said.

Devils blank Eagles, will be No. 2 seed

The Elbert County Blue Devils football team clinched the No. 2 seed in the GHSA State Playoffs after blanking Athens Christian by a score of 42-0 on senior night in the Granite Bowl Oct. 27.

Blue Devil Band brings trophies home from Franklin, Hart

The Elbert County Blue Devil Marching Band competed in two competitions this fall and won multiple honors after strong performances. The band kicked off their competition schedule with a trip to Franklin County High School as they competed in the Pridelands Marching Contest Sept. 30.

Devils drop second region game against Tigers

The Elbert County Blue Devils football team’s region-championship hopes took a hit on Friday as the Devils fell to the Commerce Tigers by a score of 49-21 in the Historic Granite Bowl Oct. 20. “In every phase of the game we did not play well,” Jarvis said after the loss.
