Volley Devils grab first area win over Athens Christian

The Elbert County Volley Devils secured a close 2-1 win over Athens Christian in their first night of area matches this season as Elbert improved to 4-14 on the year. Elbert started off the match against the Lady Eagles with a close 25-22 win in the first set.

Softball team opens region play with back-to-back wins

The Lady Devils kicked off their region schedule with a pair of dominant run-rule wins over Athens Christian Aug. 29 and Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy Aug. 31 to improve to 8-3 on the season. “I think everybody is just sort of clicking,” Head Coach Drew Greer said.

Rams fall to Stephens at home, drop to 0-2 on season

The Rams football team saw Stephens County in their second game of the season Aug. 31, but fell by a score of 22-0 to the Rebels. The Rams are scheduled to play again Sept. 7 on the road against Madison County with kickoff set for 5:30 p.m.

Lady Devils take wins in consecutive games

Elbert County’s Lady Devils softball team took a 9-7 win over Stephens County Aug. 24 thanks to back-to-back home runs from Emily Booth and Ky Dubose that gave Elbert the lead in a thrilling offensive battle.

Devils fall in home opener

The Elbert County Blue Devils football team came up short in the final minutes of a 55-35 offensive shootout against AAAA’s Madison County in the historic Granite Bowl Aug. 25.

Lady Rams go 2-0

The Elbert County Middle School Lady Rams volleyball team went 2-0 over the last week as they downed Stephens and Rabun County with a pair of 2-0 wins. The Lady Rams started off the week by playing on the road at Stephens Aug. 23 where they dominated on their way to winning in straight sets.

Volley Devils pick up two more wins before starting area play

The Elbert County Volley Devils picked up two more wins on the season, increasing their win total to five games as they downed Cedar Shoals and Greene County Aug. 23. Elbert started the night with the match against Greene County and took the win after winning two of three sets in the game.

Cross Country teams face heat at North Georgia Championships

Devils down Dogs 24-14 in season opener

The Elbert County Blue Devils football team is ranked in the Top 5 in their classification for the first time since 2015 after the Devils beat rival Hart County 24-14 on the road Aug. 18. The win over the Bulldogs saw Elbert jump from No. 8 to No.
