Elbert County tennis senior Gracie Kidd made her college plans official Thursday afternoon when she signed to play tennis at Emmanuel University prior to the team’s practice.Kidd was joined by family and teammates at the signing.

Main Street Elberton is slated to host one of their biggest events of the year, as the Easter Eggstravaganza will hit Elberton April 2.The event is slated to see a change this year as it moves from the downtown square to just down the road at Sutton Park.

Diamond Devils take series over defending region champ

The Elbert County baseball team got a big win over a region rival last week. The Diamond Devils took both games of a Friday doubleheader against Providence Christian Academy to win the overall series 2-1. Elbert County improved its record to 12-6 overall and 7-2 in region play.

The Elbert County boys’ soccer team earned its second win of the season Friday night, defending their home field and beating Oglethorpe County 4-2.Elbert County went down 1-0 in the first half then tied it with a goal from senior Pablo Medellin.

The City of Elberton will hold an Easter egg hunt called “Easter Eggstravaganza” on Thursday, April 2 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The actual egg hunt will begin at Sutton Park at 6:15 p.m. before participants are encouraged to head to the downtown square.
