The Elbert County Comprehensive High School flag football program may still be in its infancy, but it’s already produced one college athlete.

City of Elberton receives historic grant

The City of Elberton announced the largest grant funding in its history at its monthly council meeting Monday. Elberton has been approved for $45 million in funding from the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority under the Helene Resiliency Funding Program.

Diamond Devils extend win streak ahead of massive Banks series

The Elbert County baseball team is red-hot, having ripped off nine consecutive victories to improve to 19-6 overall including a 14-2 mark in region play. The Diamond Devils swept Rabun County last week, first taking a Tuesday road game 7-3 before hosting a doubleheader back in Elberton Friday.

Elbert County slow-pitch softball off to sectionals

It’s postseason time for the Elbert County slow pitch softball team.The Lady Devils finished their regular season 7-3, capping off the campaign with a pair of blowout victories in a doubleheader against Johnson County Wednesday.

Elbert County soccer teams beat Washington-Wilkes

Both Elbert County soccer teams went into spring break on a high note after each beating Washington-Wilkes at home Friday night. The Lady Devils were up first, hosting a Lady Tigers team that had five wins on the season and entered the match 2-1 in region play.

Diamond Devils sweep Oglethorpe County

The Elbert County baseball team picked up its second three-game series sweep of the season last week, winning a trio of games over Oglethorpe County. The Diamond Devils are now 15-6 overall including 10-2 in Region 8A Division I, and trail Banks County by one game for the region lead.
